Lunch Rock is the spot to take it all in
"The Lake Serene Trail is one of Washington’s most popular day hikes, complete with an aqua lake for a swim on a hot summer day. This beautiful trail starts on an old road that traverses through private property owned by Weyerhaeuser, a Washington-based timber company. This fall Weyerhaeuser will begin logging their property, which surrounds a section of the Lake Serene Trail. As a result, the Forest Service is proposing a temporary closure of the trail September 2017 through April 2018. This popular trail is important to hikers year round. That's why WTA is asking the Forest Service for changes to this closure that will provide trail access during the project and trail improvements after the logging is complete. We need hikers to speak up too! The comment deadline is August 28. Tell the Forest Service to reduce the closure time frame, allow weekend access and ensure trail improvements." -Andrea Imler Advocacy Director Link in my bio to help protect trail access.
